Food as medicine

In Chinese medicine, black sesame seeds are are valued for their ability to nourish the kidneys, strengthen bones, and promote blood circulation. Essence, often referred to as the body’s “vital substance,” is closely associated with the kidneys and is considered crucial for overall health and longevity.
Walnuts are another ingredient used in Chinese medicine for nourishing the kidneys. They are renowned for their ability to support brain health, strengthen the lower back, and replenish vital energy. Walnuts are valued for their warming nature, which helps to tonify the kidney energy and dispel coldness from the body. - 1/2 tsp cardamom
- 1/4 tsp dried ginger
Instructions:
- In a food processor, combine black sesame seeds, walnuts, fresh dates, honey, cinnamon, cardamom, and dried ginger.
- Pulse the ingredients until they form a thick, sticky mixture.
- Scoop out small portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls.
